Every day in our clinic we see the positive impact that
chiropractic can provide to our patients when applied
appropriately.

A university-based medical health profession and a core part of the Swiss health care system

Chiropractic is a university-based medical profession concerned with the musculoskeletal system. Chiropractors are experts in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of mechanical disorders of the spine and peripheral locomotor system and understand the effect such disorders have on the function of the nervous system and health in general. There is an emphasis on manual treatments including spinal adjustment and other joint and soft-tissue manipulation. Chiropractic has been researched extensively and numerous studies attest to the effectiveness and safety of this form of manual medicine. Chiropractic has been well integrated into the Swiss health care system for over 50 years and is recognized by all the compulsory health insurances.

WHO CAN BENEFIT FROM CHIROPRACTIC TREATMENT?
Our patients are truly a cross section of the entire population. Pediatric patients, senior citizens, and everyone else in between can find help in our clinic.

WHO PAYS?

Chiropractic is recognized as a medical profession in Switzerland and our treatment and services are covered by the compulsory basic insurance, accident insurance, military insurance, and disability insurance. Patients can come directly to our clinic and no referral is needed from the family doctor, with the exception being patients insured with a health maintenance organization (HMO) or a telemedicine model.

WHAT TO EXPECT?

During the initial consultation the chiropractor will take a detailed health history and perform a physical examination. If radiographs are necessary, we are equipped for and competent in diagnostic radiography. If other imaging such as MRI or CT is needed, this can be arranged directly from our clinic. After a diagnosis has been made a treatment plan will be put into action.

If it has been determined that chiropractic treatment is not appropriate the patient will be referred to the proper specialist. The prescription of physiotherapy, medical massage, and certain medication is possible as well.
